Khalsa School Board Meeting
Thursday, December 14, 2023

MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by Gurumeet Khalsa at 5:30 pm.
Board members present:
Gurumeet Khalsa
Guy Senese
Fran LaSala (remote)

Special Education Policies and Procedures have been updated to reflect current requirements. Board members received and reviewed the document. Gurumeet explained the changes that have been made.

Guy made a motion to approve the new Special Education Policies and Procedures
Fran seconded the motion

The motion passed unanimously

Gurumeet shared information on school planning:

Due to recent surgery and recovery Nirvair is taking a medical leave of absence.
The school continues to work with The Montessori Foundation to prepare for a transition of leadership, strengthen the current administrative team and consult in our search for new head of school. Tim Seldin and Lindsey Pollack from the Foundation are working directly with staff.

The school is consulting with attorneys at Osborn Maledon to review and update bylaws and ensure compliance with charter requirements during the transition of leadership
The board members acknowledged support of these plans.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 pm.
